Misan Miso Samara is a Palestinian queer dancer and actress, born in 1997 in the city of Tira. She started her dancing journey in “Zeadim”, when she was four years old. At eighteen, she moved to the United States to fulfill her dream and become a professional dancer at New York’s ‘Broadway Dance Center.’ She continued her theatre acting education at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in Los Angeles. She began her career with directors Matthew Michael Carnahan and Fanny Lysandre. In 2020, she returned to her homeland. Since then, she has been on tour with “Aswat”, a play directed by Hisham Suleiman, produced by the Nazareth Fringe Ensemble Theater. Miso was awarded “Best Performer” in Suzanne Dellal Centre’s 1I2I3 program for Nur Garabli’s solo work “Seventy Three”. Miso has also participated in Suzanne Dellal Centre’s “Dancing Outside” program.
She created movement for “Khawaja”, a play directed by Hisham Suleiman. Since 2021, she is a movement instructor at Masar College – Nazareth. She is also a dancer and co-choreographer in Garabli’s recent work, “CHÉ”. Misan is currently continuing her research concerning her own freedom and looks into the world of creation.
