The Flamenco Competition has been at the heart of the ADI Agmon Foundation since its establishment, reflecting Adi’s own words: “Remember me by granting a scholarship to a nice young talented Israeli dancer to study in Spain.” For the late Eva Agmon, the foundation’s founder, the competition was a way to nurture new talents who shared Adi’s love of flamenco and to fulfill her dream.
Over the years, winners in each final placement traveled to Spain through foundation scholarships to train professionally and deepen their knowledge of Spanish culture. Many later developed careers as soloists or company members in Israel, as teachers, choreographers, studio owners, or company directors.
At the Dias de Flamenco Festival 2026, the competition will be held for the 17th time in two categories: new talent and professional. New talent finalists will present a choreography to recorded music. Professional participants will perform two dances with live music in the semifinals, and selected finalists will perform in the Gala event.
