Caryatids | By Sigal Armoza
“A powerful work that examines the captive body in a charged encounter with the caryatids” (Nira Perry, Salona)
Caryatids is a powerful, political, emotional piece exploring the captive body and the possibility of liberation through movement. Inspired by ancient Greek female-shaped columns, the piece moves between trauma and healing, captivity and freedom. The caryatids on stage shed their stone and emerge as surviving bodies awakening, shaking off historical rigidity, and forming a new movement language that refuses to be silenced. The work premiered at the Intimadance Festival 2025 under the artistic directors Niv Sheinfeld and Oren Laor.

“Textile and Flesh” is a solo exploring the female body and its representation through processes of filling and emptying, concealment and exposure. The choreography shifts between images and identities as the performer sheds layers of culture, memory, and self. A raw, animalistic presence emerges, drawing the viewer into an intimate encounter with themselves. Through the dismantling of everyday actions, the work questions body image, aesthetics, and virtuosity.
