Kolben Dance Company invites you on a bold journey into realms of inner strength, memory, and consciousness. In the DUO evening, two new works by Amir Kolben remind us that the true essence of art lies in its power to persist, not to give up, and to find new meaning even in the most challenging places.
Eddie challenges the audience to confront personal and social blindness, uncovering how our captive consciousness and human arrogance blind us to the reality around us. The work warns of the “iceberg” that already awaits us—a collision that is inevitable if we continue to live in blindness.
Grandmother’s Tales explores the nuances between truth and fiction, memory and reality. The piece transitions between familiar daily gestures and abstract movement, weaving a narrative of both collective and personal memory. It evokes a recognition of the depth of memories and the power to grow from them, continuing to create new stories and new lives.
In the DUO evening, art becomes a bridge between personal experiences and collective strength, inviting the audience to pause, reflect, rise, and replenish their inner power.
