TAR | by Eyal Dadon
“Movement within tar is slow, dense, and resistant. Each step demands effort; every attempt to escape only pulls the body deeper. The work places the body in a space where movement becomes intricate, breath grows heavy, and the line between embrace and struggle dissolves. Tar is not merely a substance, but a state of being—physical, emotional, and mental. It envelops and seduces, suffocates and stains, leaving traces that cannot be erased. TAR is a contemporary dance work by Eyal Dadon, created in collaboration with Tamar Barlev. The lighting design by Felice Ross shapes the stage atmosphere, deepening the physical and emotional landscape of the piece. The original score, composed by Gil Nemet and Eyal Dadon, drives the work with relentless rhythm and pulsating beats. The music collides with the body, fueling it with energy while intensifying the tension between external motion and inner noise.
