The Original Works Project takes place for the 3rd time, and this year is an original production of the Foundation, focusing on a creation inspired by the archive materials of Silvia Duran – award winning dancer, choreographer, teacher and the recipient of the decoration of honor from Juan Carlos, King of Spain, for her contribution to Spain and the Spanish people.
In this spirit, the show is not a standard homage of dance reconstructions but an indepth research in the Silvia Duran Collection that has been deposited in the Israeli Dance Archive at Beit Ariela. In this framework, the dancer-choreographers that are participating in the project give a contemporary interpretation to dances from Duran’s repertoire, react choreographically and theatrically to images and videos, together with texts that display Silvia Duran’s artistic credo.
The dancers will be performed with Sylvia Duran’s iconic costumes, and they will be displayed in an exhibition alongside the show.
Original Works Project 2025 is supported by the Israeli Dance Archive at Beit Ariela.
