Dafi Dance Company | New creation by Dafi Altabeb – Premiere

In every relationship there is an unspoken contract. We choose the person we sign this contract with. We will surely fall – we just don’t know when. We want the other side to catch us – most times. The dance is like opening an old contract between a couple, re-establishing trust and getting to know one another from a new perspective. Practicing Falls is physical and intimate work that explores the possibilities of falling, supporting, suspending and breaking apart.

Since 2005, choreographer Dafi Altabeb has presented her work in major venues worldwide. She is the recipient of the Israeli Ministry of Culture Excellence Award for Young Choreographers in 2012, 2013, and 2016, and the 2018 Israeli Ministry of Culture Performance Award for Ensemble for It’s now. It’s never, as well as the 2014 Municipality of Tel-Aviv Rozenblum Award for Excellence. Altabeb also teaches and leads workshops in dance schools around the world. Most notably, she was a guest teacher and choreographer at the Emory University in Atlanta, USA, as part of the 2019 Israel Institute Visiting Artists Program. She was recently commissioned to create a new work for Palucca University of Dance in Dresden, Germany, for the 2022/23 season.
