Framing Movements 2024

The exhibition “Framing Movements” returns to the Suzanne Dellal Centre for the third time, aiming to create spaces of encounter during these complex times. Amidst the ongoing reality of war, video and sound works by local artists will be showcased throughout the centre’s orchard, moving in search of harmonious and conflicting rhythms. It stretches between thoughts about choreography as both movement and politics and the exploration of body and space, and the echoes of near and distant history, weaving together a tapestry of solidarity and subversive movements in the space between personal steps and collective actions. Through the works, the connection between group and rhythm becomes apparent: Grouping – as a choreographic, kinesthetic gesture – and rhythm – characterizing different forms of repetition at fixed or variable intervals. This relationship is reflected in a metathesis—letters shifting places, as if moving or dancing—of the Hebrew words for “group” (kvutza) and “rhythm” (ketzev).
