20:00 | Screening of the film Rabbi Capoeira & Artist Talk
A screening of Barak Heymann’s film Rabbi Capoeira, followed by a discussion with the film’s star, Miki Hayat – founder of the Haredim LaKetzev (Ultra-Orthodox In Rhythm) association and Revital Ben Moshe – the association’s Deputy Director

Film Duration: 70 minutes

Artist Talk: 30 minutes

How does a shy ultra-Orthodox boy become a world-renowned capoeira master? And how does the ultra-Orthodox community in Bnei Brak react to the revolution he is determined to create?

Rabbi Capoeira, the new film by Barak Heymann (Comrade Dov, Danny Karavan, Who’s Gonna Love Me Now?), follows the extraordinary journey of Miki Hayat as he bridges fears and dreams.

“A song for peace in a time of deepening divisions. A poetic and deeply human film that fills the heart.” – Merlyn Venig, Portfolio
“The secret charm of Barak Heymann’s cinema: small yet grand stories of ordinary people—those who ride the bus with us, stand in the same supermarket line—who, sometimes, can turn out to be true film stars.” – Zohar Orbach, Walla
“An excellent film with an incredible protagonist.” – Tigal Nassi, Yedioth Ahronoth
