Pitching is Suzanne Dellal Centre’s unique platform, offering local artists valuable professional opportunities on the global stage. The Pitching event creates space where artists can present ideas and proposals for future projects to an international panel, consisting of esteemed directors of dance festivals, companies and academies.
The platform features a selection of eleven choreographers, selected through a rigorous application process overseen by a committee of local art professionals, each presenting a proposed choreographic project for 2024/25. In the months leading up to the Pitching event, the selected artists receive mentoring and professional feedback by the Suzanne Dellal Centre’s Team, to refine and enhance their presentations.
What makes Pitching particularly compelling is the commitment from all panel members to offer prestigious international opportunities to the participants. These opportunities may include commissioning new works, offering residencies, supporting the development of new creations, and providing academic possibilities.
The international panel, chaired by Samuel Wuersten, the artistic director of the Holland Dance Festival and the MA/BA dance programs at Zurich University of the Arts, consists of seven panelists from various parts of the world. Together, they form a committee that helps artists gain recognition and expand their horizons in the global arts scene.
Due to the current situation in Israel, the Pitching 2023 Event took place online, on Mar 18, 2024. The platform featured a selection of 11 choreographers, each presenting a proposed choreographic project for 2024/25.
We congratulate all the participating artists for their achievements and thank the international pitching committee: Samuel Wuersten(chairman), Anita Van Dolen, Gina Gibney, Lisa Rozov, Honne Dohrmann, Juan Pablo, for giving outstanding professional opportunities to the artists.
