SOLO | DUET | TRIO
A development program for emerging choreographers

1|2|3 is a new annual program for the next generation of emerging Israeli choreographers. The program takes place over nine months, in three phases – solo, duet, trio. Ten artists were selected to begin the program. After each phase, the choreographers will be narrowed down until only three choreographers remain.
As part of the program for choreographers, there is a parallel program for the development of lighting designers for dance who have embarked on a joint creative journey with the choreographers.

The program was established with the assistance of the Lottery Council for Culture and the Arts.

The ten choreographers: Inbar Buchbinder, Shahar Hanin, Noam Fruchtlander Caspi, Nur Garabli, Tamir Golan, Naya Binghi, Dana Sapir, Shani Bar Dimri, Ron Cohen, Lalel Pillora.

The five lighting designers: Omer Boulanger, Gil Ben Zeev, Netanel Kafka, Vika Kaganovskaya, Yair Salman

Phase 1 – SOLO: The ten solos premiered in a Yerushalmy Hall on July 1, 2021 to a sold out audience and an artistic selection committee. Six choreographers were selected to continue to Phase 2. One outstanding choreographer was chosen to create/teach a solo at the “Maslool – Professional Dance Program.” One outstanding performer was chosen to receive entrance to the Centre’s PRO MORNINGS classes and a subscription to performances at the Centre.

Phase 2 – DUET: The six duets will premiere in late September 2021 (date to be confirmed) in Studio Zehava and Jack Dellal. The performances will be presented to the general public and an artistic committee. Three choreographers will be selected to proceed to Phase 3. One outstanding choreographer will be chosen to set a duet on dancers at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. One outstanding performer will be chosen to receive a scholarship to attend the Movementors Workshop at SEAD in Austria.

Phase 3 – TRIO: The three trios will premiere Suzanne Dellal Hall in December 2021 and will be presented to the general public by an artistic committee. One outstanding choreographer will be invited to a one-week residency within the Fuori Programma Festival, in collaboration with Teatro Biblioteca Quarticciolo, Roma. One outstanding performer will be invited to France to take class  and observe a professional dance company.

In 2022, the Suzanne Dellal Centre will host a 1|2|3 Festival that will feature selected works from the entire program.
